We understand that in most cases, people come to Niseko because of the amazing snow and Hirafu lifestyle.
Your perception of a powder day will be permanently altered, and there are not many powder hot spots that can rival Niseko! It will undoubtedly deliver the best powder days of your life!
Regular 'face shots' and 'pillows of powder' will result in your returning to work with a huge grin on your face.
On days where the snow doesn't fall and the sun shines instead, Mt Yotei will act as a perfect backdrop to your day on the mountain.
With all this in mind we will try our best to ensure that you can enjoy these types of days on the hill as much as possible, aiming to be flexible with time off requests and shift preferences.
However we must ask that in exchange you work hard during your time at Vacation Niseko:
reliability, flexibility, efficiency and attention to detail are a must!
FORMER EMPLOYEE TESTIMONIALS
"The management understood why most of us came to Niseko to work - and shifts were designed to get the most opportunities to ski which was great!"
"The best thing about this work is bonding with certain guests who want to hear your stories on the hill and enhancing their overall experience"
"The staff lodge is a great place to live with awesome people and in a great location"
Outside of work:
"My best experience outside of work was when touring from the peak of Niseko Annupuri to Iwaonupuri, then up to Weisshorn and down through the catskiing area. Then hitch hiking back to Hirafu!"
"My best experience outside of work was climbing Mount Yotei and skiing powder down the crater! The view was incredible and then we got to ski the longest run of the season: 1898m back down!"
"My best experience this winter was snowboarding in waist deep powder on the mountain and enjoying different resorts in the area: Kokusai, Kiroro, Moiwa and Rusutsu."
Some Advice for new staff:
"Bring some cold medicine from home, painkillers, bring home comforts like Chocolate and Marmite if that's something you will really miss!"
"Buy jackets, gloves and other ski-wear at home as it is rather expensive in Hirafu. For skis and snowboards there are some great second-hand deals at the beginning of the season, but you have to be quick! Otherwise it is pretty easy to buy gear online cheaper than in Hirafu"
"Bring enough savings to last until January, especially if you intend to buy your own gear in Niseko!"
